La Gaude is a small medieval and picturesque Provence village which has kept all its authenticity and soul. It is at 15 minutes west by car from Vence & east from Nice airport and the sea. It has several non expensive and very good local restaurants. The famous Provence writer & movie maker Marcel Pagnol lived there for a long time.
